The main objective of the program is to improve the R&D activities of SMEs.
In our country, R&D (research and development) applications are usually carried out by large-scale enterprises. Therefore, the R&D activities of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which account for 98% of the industry, do not reach the desired level.
The main objectives of this program developed by TÜBİTAK are to increase the efficiency of SMEs, their share in added value and their international competitiveness. More specifically, with the support provided by the tubitak 1507 program, it is aimed that SMEs develop their technology and innovation capacities to become more competitive, to be able to carry out systematic projects, to develop products with high added value, to have a corporate research technology development culture, and to participate more effectively in national and international support programs.
Projects that wish to benefit from the program;
From January 2020, Tübitak will start collecting applications for the 1507 program through the call procedure. The program supports projects up to 500,000 TL with a grant of 75% per period. If the project 1512 was established within the scope of the “tubitak individual entrepreneurship progressive support program” or benefited from technoventure capital support under Law No. 5746, an additional 10% support is provided.
Some changes have recently been made to the 1507 program regulation. Thus, SMEs that can benefit from a maximum of 75% grant support for the first two projects of the programme were granted the right to receive support from the programme in their first five projects, provided at least two were joint applicants.
The titles of the supported project expenditures are as follows:
personnel expenses
material expenses
computer and server expenses
travel expenses
****Other services and labor procurement expenses made outside the company for prototype manufacturing
****Product analysis and laboratory expenses contracted to universities within the country, R&D units affiliated to TÜBITAK, private sector R&D organizations
****Chartered financial advisory (ymm) acquisition expenses and project consulting expenses
According to these headings, the tubitak 1507 SME R&D start-up support program provides support in the phases of concept development (research), feasibility, laboratory, design, prototype production and development, as well as pilot plant installation and trial production.
The program of tubitak 1507 is evaluated according to 3 main dimensions. These are:
Dimension: industrial R&D content, technology level, innovative aspect
Dimension: suitability of the project plan and organizational infrastructure for the project
