What is Google Consent Mode v2?
Google Consent Mode is a service that dynamically adjusts the data collection behavior of Google services (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager, etc.) based on users' cookie preferences.
Announced in 2024, Consent Mode v2 enhances this structure by processing user preferences in more detailed categories.
Google now receives separate consent signals for personalization and measurement, improving compliance with EU regulations such as TCF 2.2 and GDPR, while minimizing data loss.
As of 2024, Google has made it mandatory for all advertisers in the EU/EEA region to migrate to Consent Mode v2.
