Thinking about switching your cookie management tool?
On this page you'll find the 6 criteria to look at when choosing a new cookie management platform, how Efilli meets each one, and how the switch works step by step.
In short: When switching cookie management tools, check where consent records are stored, whether consent records are kept in a downloadable format compliant with KVKK (Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law), Google Consent Mode v2 support, setup time, local support, and whether you can manage multiple websites and mobile apps from one place. With Efilli, consent records are stored in Turkey, setup is usually completed in 1-3 business days, and the switch is carried out together with our customer success team.
6 criteria to look at when choosing a new cookie management tool
Every tool shows a cookie banner. The difference lies in how consents are recorded, where they are stored, and how easily your team can manage the process. The table below shows why each criterion matters and how Efilli meets it.
| Criterion | Why it matters | With Efilli |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Where consent records are stored | Consent records contain personal data. The country where this data is kept directly affects your obligations under KVKK. | Your consent records are stored on our infrastructure in Turkey. Efilli is ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certified. |
| 2. KVKK-compliant consent records | During an audit or a data subject request, you need to be able to show when consent was given and with which preferences. | You can review, download and transfer every consent record to your own systems from the dashboard. Reports can be exported. |
| 3. Google Consent Mode v2 support | Your Google Analytics and Google Ads tags need to respect visitor consent to keep your measurement and advertising data flowing. | Consent Mode v2 is enabled with one click from the dashboard. Ready-made templates map cookie categories automatically, and the integration test checks that tags fire in the right order. |
| 4. Setup time | A longer switch means managing the old and new tools at the same time. | Once you add your domain and place the JS code on your website, setup is usually completed in 1-3 business days. |
| 5. Local support | When a regulatory or technical question comes up, reaching a team that understands you and KVKK speeds things up. | Our customer success team in Turkey opens your account, completes the initial configuration with you and supports you throughout the switch. |
| 6. Multiple websites, languages and mobile apps | Using a separate tool and dashboard for each website or app scatters your consent records and leads to inconsistent banners. | You manage multiple domains, banners in different languages and your iOS/Android apps from a single dashboard. Web and mobile consents are reported in the same place. |

Frequently asked questions about switching
What happens to the consent records in my previous tool?
Consent records collected by your previous tool are proof of the consents obtained during that period. We recommend exporting and archiving them before closing your old account. From the moment you switch to Efilli, all consents are recorded in the Efilli dashboard, and you can download them at any time.
Do I need to collect consent from visitors again after switching?
Yes. Consent preferences are kept in the record structure of the tool that collected them and are not carried over to a new tool. That's why your visitors will see the Efilli banner once on their first visit after the switch and give their preferences again. This way, all your consent records for the new period are collected in a single system.
Will my website experience any downtime during the switch?
With proper planning, there's no downtime. We configure and test Efilli first. On launch day, when you remove the old tool's code and add the Efilli code at the same time, your website is never left without a consent banner.
Will I lose any data during the switch?
Your historical data in Google Analytics and Google Ads stays in those tools; changing your cookie management tool doesn't affect it. If you export the consent records from your old tool, there are no gaps in your archive either. After the switch, Google Consent Mode v2 signals continue to be sent through Efilli.
How long does it take to switch to Efilli?
Once you add your domain and place Efilli's JS code on your website, setup is usually completed in 1-3 business days. If you're moving multiple websites or mobile apps, we plan the timeline together with our customer success team.
Can I move multiple websites and my mobile app together?
Yes. You can manage multiple domains, banners in different languages and your iOS/Android apps (Native, React Native and Flutter) from a single dashboard. Your web and mobile consents are reported in the same place.
